  • Special Education Rights & Responsibilities Handbook – https://serr.disabilityrightsca.org/  This is a huge book that explains parent rights in the Special Education/IEP process in a Question and Answer format, and it’s available with auto-translation to many languages.

  • Alternative Dispute Resolution –  Non SFUSD facilitators who provide FREE mediation for the prevention and resolution of complaints between parents/guardians and school district staff.
  • CASE (Community Alliance for Special Education) If you encounter IEP challenges, reach out for a FREE 45-minute consultation with a special education advocate.  Consultations are held via phone or Google Meet. https://www.caseadvocacy.org/contact It takes about a month to schedule and hold your consultation so it’s helpful to plan ahead.
