Autism
Group
Meets: 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. A bi-monthly support
group for parents of children with Autism.
Aspergers
Group
Meets: 3rd Thursday of the month For famiilies who have children with Asperger's Syndrome. Contact Open Gate for more information
Chinese-Speaking
Group (in partnership with the Chinatown
Child Development Center)
Meets: Every 3rd Sunday of the month (off-site). Facilitatored by Nancy Seto For Chinese-speaking families of children of all ages with special
needs.

needs, providing a monthly support group, individual consultation,

Living with Loss Group
Meets: 2nd & 4th Mondays of the month (off-site).
For families with medically fragile children and/or families facing
issues of loss due to illness or death.
Mission
Head Start Group
Meets: Every 2rd Wednesday (off-site).
For Spanish speaking families of children birth to five with
special needs, providing a support group, individual consultation,
& information/referral to community services.
OMI Support Group
Meets: Every 3rd wednesday of the month. A new community resource for families of children birth to five with special needs, providing monthly training, individual consultation, & information/referral to community services.
Parent Mentor Group-English
Meets: Every 3rd Thursday of the month. For parents
who are participating in the Parent
Mentor Program (a program which matches parent mentors who have
been trained by SFCD to assist parents). This group has a strong
training and educational component.
Parent
Mentor Group-Spanish
Meets: Every 1st Saturday of the month. For
parents who are participating in the Parent Mentor Program (a program
which matches parent mentors who have been trained by SFCD to assist
parents). This group has a strong training and educational component.
Parents of Young Deaf & Hard of Hearing Children (ages birth to three)
CURRENTLY ON HIATUS.
For families who have children with
hearing loss or deafness. It is a collaborative effort between SFCD and the SFUSD Early Start Program.
Parents of Transition Age Youth with Special Health Care Needs and Disabilities
Meets: 1st Tuesday of the month from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. STARTING March 6, 2007. Join us for information, resources and support for the issues we and our youth face as they reach adulthood. For more info call Linda Tung 415-282-7494, x12.
Prader-Willi
Group
Meets: Every other month on the 3rd Saturday.
For families of children with Prader-Willi Syndrome. Sibling component
also provided.
Premature Birth Group
CURRENTLY ON HIATUS This is for families with children (0-7yrs) who have experienced a Premature Birth.

Support Groups
CURRENTLY ON HIATUS There are
currently 2 sibling groups. They provide peer support for children
& teens who have a brother or a sister with a disability.
Spanish Speaking Group
Meets: Every 4th Monday of the month (off-site:Good Samaritan).
For Spanish-speaking families with children with any kind of
disability.
Tuesday
Night Group
Meets: Every 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month
(off-site). For families with recently diagnosed infants or young children.
