issues and the perspectives of families to groups, classes, community
agencies and professional groups. To arrange for a presentation

Workshops
and Clinics: Support for
Families offers free educational workshops
and clinics to help parents and professionals understand available
resources and navigate systems of care. With advance notice, childcare
and interpreter services can be provided.
Parent
Professional Workshops (PPW's): are workshops for parents, professionals
and the community at large. Topics are based on needs expressed
by families and have included Assessment, the IEP, Supplemental
Security Income (SSI), self advocacy, sexuality, behavior management,
and Town Hall meetings with school district administrators. Printed
resources, articles and information on the evenings topics
are provided. Networking and sharing of views is always welcome
and incorporated into the discussion period. For a schedule of planned
workshops, check upcoming events.
Clinics:
Monthly clinics are smaller, more informal versions of our workshops.
Clinics are designed to assist families with their questions and
concerns on topics including the Individual Education Program (IEP),
the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), and Supplemental
Security Income (SSI). For a schedule of planned clinics, check
upcoming events.
